The EC2000 is a highly reliable control system designed to operate satisfactorily in areas of high ambient electrical noise.

The EC2000 is designed for use in controlling the electro-deposition of paint. The controller eliminates the necessity of taking samples, analyzing these samples, and manually filling the system with paint solids and resin.

The process control is based on the fact that the amount of paint applied to properly prepared objects placed in the dip tank is proportional to the number of ampere hours recorded. When the total reaches the number of ampere hours preset on the counter, two 120 volt AC outputs will be turned on. These outputs drive pumps that replenish resins and paint solids in the tank. These must be positive displacement pumps. The duration that each pump runs in each cycle is controlled by either a preset time interval (nearest 0.1 second accuracy) or a preset number of pump strokes.

If a switch opens when the paint or resin reservoir empties or if a pump is used which automatically shuts down when the reservoir is emptied, the EC2000 E-coat Controller has pump cycle memories which allow the remaining pump strokes of an interrupted cycle to be run automatically once the reservoir has been refilled.


SPECIFICATIONS:

Controller input power: 0.1 Amperes at 120 volts AC, 60 hertz excluding load current.

Controller output power: EC2000 controls two pumps.  Pump power ratings should be less than 2A, 120 VAC, 60 Hz. 5A surges are permitted at turn-on. Pump(s) are controlled by optically isolated solid state relays. Relays with higher current ratings are available, if required.

Preset capability:

Memory: The EC2000 memories function to run the pumps continuously to make up for "out of paint" periods. Each memory can hold requests for up to 999,999 pump cycles, and its status can be shown on the LCD display.

Signal input during operation: 0 to 100 millivolts maximum. Maximum operating voltage may be programmed as either 50 or 100 millivolts. Input surges may reach 200 millivolts momentarily.

Ampere unit totalizer: The totalizer will track the ampere hours up to 999,999,999 and is resettable

Count rate: Units are available with any full scale count rate between 100 and 36,000 counts per hour. This allows the output to read directly in ampere hours.  Battery backup: none needed.

Enclosure: Standard 14 gauge steel JIC box 8" x 6" x 4".  Hinged door with quick release latches.  Designed to provide protection from dust, dirt, oil, and water.  Four external mounting holes.  Mounting hole dimensions: 8.75" x 4.00".  Total weight: 7.5 lbs.

Control panel: 16 gauge stainless steel panel.  Hinged panel with magnetic catches for easy accesses into the controller.
